Two over-the hill girls from Shrewsbury, Vermont drove hundreds of miles going from farm to farm collecting recipes. They dropped "inn" to a few B&B's too, and made lots of phone calls. Recipes were recited to them over pasture fences, in dairy barns over cows, in sugarhouses, and at kitchen tables over coffee and goodies. Joan got so excited every time she saw a silo, "Hey Janet! There's a farm! Turn Left!". They were given cookies and cheese, syrup and veggies, but what they were given the most were friendly smiles and warm welcomes that made this so much fun! To say the least, they no longer dare get on a scale, but tasiting all this was worth the gain! |
